FEW FEATURES OF NATIONAL POPULATION POLICY ARE; iii. Reduce infant mortality rate to below 30 per 1000 live births. iv. Reduce maternal mortality ratio to below 100 per 100,000 live births. v. Achieve universal immunization of children against all vaccine preventable diseases. vi. Promote delayed marriage for girls, not earlier than age 18 and preferably after 20 years of age. vii. Achieve 80 percent institutional deliveries and 100% deliveries by trained persons. viii. Achieve universal access to information/counseling, and services for fertility regulation and contraception with a wide basket of choices. ix. Achieve 100% registration of births, deaths, marriage and pregnancy. Contain the spread of Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), and promote greater integration between the management of Reproductive Tract Infections (RTI) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) and the National AIDS Control Organisation. read less

Family planning and birth control measures are to be used. The National Population Policy NPP aims at stabilizing population by 2045. It Lays emphasis on economic growth, social development and environmental protection. Certain measures which are to be adopted for it are: 1. Raising the age of marriage. 2.
